Peter Bradley Adams was formerly one half of the duo, eastmountainsouth, signed by Robbie Robertson (of The Band) to DreamWorks Records in 2002. Adams co-produced their debut album with Mitchell Froom and toured extensively for the next year and a half with the likes of Lucinda Williams, Tracy Chapman, Joan Baez and Nelly Furtado. Their single, "You Dance" was a #1 AAA radio hit (top 5 for 2 months) in 2003, which led to a performance on Late Night with Conan O'Brien on September 24, 2003. Their last show was later that same month at the Hollywood Bowl with Shelby Lynne and Lyle Lovett. It was not long after that when Adams decided to venture on his own and become a solo artist. Peter's arrangement and interpretation of Stephen Foster's "Hard Times", the opening track on the eastmountainsouth CD, appeared in Cameron Crowe's film, "Elizabethtown" and also was included on the soundtrack album. Peter's songs and music from eastmountainsouth (as well as solo) has appeared in over 30 films and television shows in the US, including One Tree Hill, Smallville, The Mentalist and Alias. Years later, sales of eastmountainsouth's self-titled and only release rank in the top 20 in Amazon.com sales under the Alternative Folk category. Meanwhile, Adams has released three solo records and is set to release his fourth ,"Between Us", on June 14th of this year. Originally from Alabama, he has also lived in Los Angeles and Nashville, though he calls Brooklyn home these days. "Adams is fast developing as a songwriter who both inspires and questions" - Nic Harcourt / Los Angeles Times Magazine - Jan 2010
